In the fields of recent R&D and especially affective engineering, targets for the object color measurement are diversified. For example, in the case of product development, design has become the important determinant for buying, and the perception of various materials where special surface structures are developed. These days, the importance of colorimetry is increasing, due to such reason as globalization and manufacturing. There is a demand to conduct examinations and evaluations of products by precise methods of measurement. The purpose of this seminar is to deepen the understanding of colorimetry under the theme of diversifying object colors. The intension is to acquire the knowledge for measuring relatively difficult objects included gonio-apparent and fluorescent colors through practice by using the latest measuring instruments and also using a spectral imaging system.

Information for Participation Target people:
Having the basic knowledge of color science, such as CIELAB, spectral reflectance and color-difference (ΔE*ab). Students, researchers and specialists managing color, who belong to universities, technical schools, research organizations and companies. Intending to acquire deeper knowledge of colorimetry. Prior participation registration is necessary for experience-based participation. Auditing participation is possible without registration for the participants of the conference. Several seats will be available for the auditing participants inside the seminar room. The application is possible for any courses. For each course, the same content is repeated twice, on the first day and the second day. According to the schedule of the participant, it is possible to combine the first day and the second day. The same person cannot repeat the same course twice. Others:
The basic language for the seminar is English. Questions could be made in Japanese.
Participants can bring the samples they wish to measure. We will carry out the measurement as far as the time permits. The measurement results will be released in CSV form or TXT form to be able to take away. Please bring external memories, such as USB flash memory, which can be connected to USB ports.
